Glossary of Industry Terms

  • Exergames, Exergaming, Active Gaming, e-gaming, Interactive Fitness are all generic terms used to describe the concept of using video or computer game technology to encourage people to exercise.

  • Target Trainer, T-Wall, Lightspace Play Wall are all wall-based interactive concepts.  All have their benefits, but none offer the proven versatility, long-term durability, program options and return on investment potential available with XerTrainer and XerPro. 

  • Pump it Up Pro X and Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) are the two options available for multiplayer interactive dance systems.  DDR uses four steps – forward, back, left and right.  Pump it Up Pro X uses five steps – left forward, right forward, left back, right back and middle, offering 50% more dance step options for players as they twist and turn to the music.

  • iDance, BluFit, BluFit ProDance and Game2Move are all multiplayer interactive dance systems  based on DDR Software.  They offer varying features and reliability, but none offer the complete interactive benefits of XerDance with its five-step Pump it Up Pro X system – more variety, more workout, more like real dance – plus individual pad LCD readouts of score, steps, and calories burned.
